Threshold

What is Threshold?

“Threshold” refers to the “Player Participation Threshold Count” – In other words, it’s the number of people required to participate to guarantee the maximum prize(s).

This number is made public within event details so players aren’t caught by surprise if the participation count forces a cancelation.

In the event that the threshold is not met, the tournament host has 3 options:

  1. Cancel
  2. Reschedule
  3. Continue Event at a reduced Pot Prize

Canceling is often the best option when participation numbers don’t justify any further attention. Rescheduling is workable for unexpected circumstances (i.e. weather, acts of God, etc.) causes a low turn out. Lastly, continuing the event at a reduced pot prize is a 2-way agreement between the host and the players who showed up – But only if both parties are in favor of that option.
